MIDI ACE is the perfect Windows program to select and play MIDI files.  In designing the program we have tried to keep it simple, intuitive and functional. While MIDI ACE can be used by anyone interested in playing MIDI music, our thrust in putting it together was to design an application that would allow musicians to easily play MIDI files while rehearsing, and during live performances.

This package contains the MIDI ACE program.  To install the program, run MA_SETUP.EXE from the MS Windows Program Manager. After installation you should read the README1.WRI file for the latest information on MIDI ACE. Extensive program documentation is included in the on-line help.  Please note that file VBRUN300.DLL is not supplied with the installation.  This is the dynamic link library for Visual Basic 3.0.  You probably have this file.  If not it can be downloaded from any of the major on-line services as well as most BBS's.

MIDI ACE is a shareware program. You can think of shareware as try before you buy software. It is not free software or public domain software. If you like the program and use it for more than a 30 day trial period, you must register the program.  Instructions for registering and registration benefits are contained in file ORDER.WRI.

MIDI ACE is provided as an automatic installation program. To use it, first start Windows and run the MA_SETUP.EXE program from Program Manager or File Manager. The SETUP program will prompt you to enter the location you want to install the program to.  The default is to install to the C:\MIDIACE subdirectory. The setup program, will backup all files that are replaced and will create a log of all files installed (INSTALL.LOG).  Additional setup information is located in the README1.WRI file as well as some common installation and run problems.
